Accounts and Cheat Codes

Do I need to create an account?

No. When you visit the site, we automatically create an anonymous account for you so you can start voting immediately.

What is a Cheat Code?

Because we do not ask for your email or password, the Cheat Code is the only way to save your account.

It generates a unique phrase, like neon-tiger-warp-1000, that works as your permanent login key.

I lost my Cheat Code. Can I recover my votes?

No.

We prioritize privacy, which means we do not collect email addresses or phone numbers for account recovery. If you lose your Cheat Code, there is no way for us to verify ownership and restore the account.

Please write your Cheat Code down.

Can I vote on my phone and my computer?

Yes. Generate a Cheat Code on your first device, then use Load Cheat Code on the second device to sync both to the same account.

Can I change my alias, tagline, or avatar?

Yes. Open your profile from the top-right profile pill and use the edit controls to update your display name, tagline, and avatar seed.

Features

What is Head to Head?

Head to Head is a comparison mode for up to 6 players. Enter saved display names and we will generate an accuracy race chart plus a leaderboard from scored games.

You can compare across all scored games or switch to shared games only for a cleaner apples-to-apples matchup.

What are Tribunals?

Tribunals are private groups for up to 12 members. They are meant for friend groups, rival circles, or any closed group that wants its own leaderboard and comparison view.

You join a tribunal by entering an invite code from an existing member. Once inside, you can track standings, compare scored games, and see who will come out on top.

Scoring and Rules

How is accuracy calculated?

Accuracy is based on the absolute difference between your predicted score and the final OpenCritic score. If you guess 85 and the game lands at 82, you are off by 3 points.

What does 'Will Not Score' mean?

If you check this box, you are predicting that the game will not end up with an OpenCritic score. You should still provide a score for the hypothetical case where it does. This will be shown on a game once it releases as doubt percentage

What are Accuracy Badges?

Users earn permanent badges based on their prediction performance. These appear on your profile once a game releases and scores are finalized.

  • 🔮
    Oracle

    Predict the exact OpenCritic score.

  • 🎯
    Sharp Guess

Predict within 2 points of the final score.

  • Close But No Cigar

Predict within 3 points of the final score.

You can earn badges as an anonymous user, but if you clear cookies or switch devices without saving a Cheat Code, that collection can be lost.

What is Swipe Mode?

Swipe Mode is a fast voting deck for games you have not rated yet. You can open it from the home screen header.

On desktop, use Enter to submit a score, Tab to skip forward, and the arrow keys to move through the queue.

What is the difference between Badges and Achievements?

Badges are game-specific accuracy rewards like Oracle, Sharp Guess, and Close But No Cigar.

Achievements are broader profile milestones tied to season participation and long-term prediction behavior. Your profile now separates them into dedicated tabs.

When are results revealed?

Community averages and your personal ranking are revealed automatically three days before a game releases. At this point all voting will be locked.
